Make some free Bitcoins – Really?

Hello Everybody,
I am just a regular guy with some time on my hands to browse the net.  I have recently been playing around with Bitcoins to see what’s all the fuss about.   As the title says, I wanted to make some free Bitcoins!

So, having looked at the bitcoin.org website I found this link on free samples.  Dont bother clicking it till you read the rest of this article.

I decided to try some of the links provided and then write about one of them.  After picking many links I decided to write about Bitvisitor – I am not providing the link, cause its crap, just read on.

For the record I am not associated with any company in anyway and I have no recommendations only findings and information to share with you all and hopefully save you a lot of time.   If you will take the time to read this little article you will see my honesty!

So on to Bitvisitor.
Firstly you have to enter your Bitcoin address which if you don’t have a bitcoin address then click here in the near and I will show you how to get one.  After you enter your Bitcoin wallet address you are taken to a site with a timer at the top which shows that you must first wait five minutes before you can get your free Bitcoins.

A what the heck I say, I can continue writing this little article while I am waiting for the clock to countdown.  Then after the clock reaches 0.00 you get the option to move on to another page to make more Bitcoins.  First you have to enter a captcha to prove your not a computer.

Anyway, what I noticed was this, you get 8 uBTC’s for visiting the next site.  I decided to establish what this means in lets say “real money terms” a quick google tells me the following.

“uBTC = Micro Bitcoin = 1 Millionth of a Bitcoin!! or in numerical terms that would be 0.000001 of a Bitcoin!!”

So for me for my five minutes of surfing to that web page I would get 0.000008 of a Bitcoin!, Sounds like F!@# all! I thought, so I decided to do a conversion from Bitcoins to Euro. I used this site to do that for me.  And I was right!! – It is F!@# all – in fact when I entered the amount of 0.000008 it showed me that would be equal to 0.00 euro! which lead me to think the converter is not working, so I tried again removing one of the zeros and what do you know! it now showed me that if I got 0.00008 bit coins I would have something worth approximately 0.01 Euros or one euro cent!

Lets me simplify this for you as of today Saturday 20th April 2013

  • 1 Euro = Approximately 0.01 Bitcoins
  • So to make one euro on Bitvisitor how long would that take?
  • The math is 0.01 divided by 0.000008 per click = 1250 clicks
  • Therefore I would need to click the ‘next’ button 1250 times before I could make 1 euro!!
  • Which would mean 1250 multiplied by 5 minutes which is 6250 minutes
  • Which in human readable form is equal to a staggering 104.167 hours!
  • Or 4.34 days to make 1 F!@#ing euro!
  • So in 1 year I would make about eighty four euro and ten cents!

WELL F!@# THAT!

I will look into this whole free Bitcoin thing some more and come back to ya.  Hope you enjoyed my little bit of research.  I would be delighted to hear general comments but please if you are going to comment and recommend another site or a link to make free bit coins on, the criteria for your comments to avoid getting the “Scam Tag” from me is that you show the math as I did and show that it makes more money than Bitvisitor! – Otherwise don’t bother wasting other peoples time looking for such links, I will just delete your comment,

Of course all other general comments without links are welcome.

Happy hunting, let me know if you find something real,
Julian

PS. By the time I had finished writing this article Bitvisitor had told me the following! “No more ads. Come back tomorrow!”  Ya Sure I will!
